Constitution - Government

The FECA is not to be considered in any sense as denominational in its function save for the purposes of the civil law, and the relationship of the Council to the member groups is advisory only. However, the Council has the sole and exclusive authority to nominate individuals to civil authorities for appointment as authorised marriage celebrants and to withdraw their sponsorship or accreditation for such purposes.

Government shall be by a council consisting of a leader and two members of each congregation or group. Council shall meet at least annually, (Quorum for Council to consist of 7 members.)
Executive Committee - President, two Vice Presidents, Treasurer, Secretary and Assistant Secretary. Executive shall consist of Officers and meet when necessary between Council meetings, (Quorum for Executive to consist of 4 members.)

This Constitution shall be changed only after:

  1. Three (3) months notice of such intended changes is given in writing to all member churches.
  2. Such proposed changes have been agreed upon by a three-fourths (3/4) majority of those present (with voting power) at a specially convened meeting of the Council, or the Annual Meeting.
